In my experience as an office worker, every single employee always maintains a couple of hiding places. After all, when you’re working in a communal space, you usually have at least a few things you don’t want others laying their mitts on. It may be a bit mean-spirited, but should you stumble upon these hidden office caches, you can’t very well leave them be, can you? No, you can’t, so here’s how to open secret rooms in Have a Nice Death.
How to Open Secret Rooms in Have a Nice Death
Throughout the labyrinthine halls of Death Inc., there are numerous hidden nooks nestled behind false walls and dead ends, within which the company’s employees have stashed all manner of goodies. Since Death is the CEO and all, and he is currently in the process of disciplining the entire workforce, it is well within his rights to loot these secret rooms for all they’re worth.
Secret rooms can be found in all departments of Death Inc. When opened, they reveal caches of useful items and materials, including Anima, Soulary, Prismium, Ingots, Essences, Curse Rerolls, and more. Given the general scarcity of resources in this game, you’d do well to hunt down and crack open these secret rooms every single chance you get.
Finding and Opening Secret Rooms

Secret rooms are all hidden behind false walls and floors. At a glance, these walls and floors don’t seem particularly out of the ordinary, but if you stand around and watch them for a few seconds, you may see the phantom image of a padlock flash over them. That’s the surefire sign that there’s a secret room there, so if a spot looks suspicious, just wait around there to see if a padlock shows up. As for what makes a spot suspicious, remember that a secret room needs enough space on the map to physically exist. If you come upon a dead end that has a weirdly big amount of unpassable space next to it, there’s a good chance there’s gonna be a secret room padlock there.
So, how do you actually open a secret room? Therein lay the rub: the only way to bust open a secret room’s padlock is to spend a Blue Anima Burst. As Anima is your only reliable means of healing on the go, this means you’ll need to take a gamble on the secret room’s contents. You may get your Anima back if you’re lucky, or you may get an item that makes the expense worth it, or you might end up with virtually nothing. It’s up to you to decide whether or not you can eat that cost in true corporate fashion.
Keep those eyeholes open for those secret rooms as you lurk the halls of Death Inc. If the employees are gonna make trouble for you, the least you can do is filch their hidden snacks.
