In response to a series of recent attacks that have struck U.S. interests and claimed the lives of American service members, President Donald J. Trump today reaffirmed the nation’s resolve and promised a decisive and “swift” response to defend U.S. personnel and uphold international stability.
Over the past 48 hours, tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply following unmanned aerial assaults on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the tragic loss of six U.S. service members in confrontations linked to Iranian-backed forces. While no additional injuries were reported at the diplomatic mission, the attacks have underscored the dangerous volatility in the region.
President Trump, speaking with News Nation Monday evening, said, “You’re going to find out soon” what steps the United States will take to respond. He emphasized that while American leadership is committed to strength and protection, he does not believe that deploying ground troops is necessary at this time.
“We are doing a lot of damage and setting them back significantly,” the President said. “We’re ahead of schedule on our objectives, and I’ll know when they’re reached. It’s getting very close.”

In light of the heightened risk of further strikes, the State Department has urged all U.S. citizens in 15 Middle Eastern countries to consider leaving the region, and has limited non‑essential travel to military sites. U.S. diplomatic staff at the embassy in Riyadh were reported safe and taking shelter as precautionary measures following the drone impacts.
The recent strikes come amid an already active campaign of aerial engagements between U.S. and allied forces and elements tied to Iran. In addition to the embassy incident, Saudi defensive forces successfully intercepted multiple drones near Riyadh and Al‑Kharj, with only minor damage reported. Regional ripple effects included temporary disruptions to transportation in the Strait of Hormuz and a fire at a nearby fuel facility.
Although dramatic headlines can suggest otherwise, President Trump reassured the American public that he is not currently concerned about attacks on U.S. soil or at bases abroad. “It’s part of war — whether people like it or not. That’s the way it is,” he said, emphasizing confidence in U.S. intelligence and defense capabilities.
The President also hinted at forthcoming developments regarding leadership changes in Tehran, saying, “You’ll be finding out very soon who will take over running Iran.”
Meanwhile, U.S. officials continue to coordinate with regional partners, emphasizing shared security goals and collective readiness to respond to aggression. As the situation evolves, the U.S. remains committed to protecting its personnel, supporting its allies, and pursuing peace through strength.
