Jared Leto Is Set To Star In A Standalone Joker Film

It was first confirmed that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn would get her own standalone movie following DC’s release of Suicide Squad, but recent news points to Jared Leto also getting the same treatment.

Warner Brothers and DC both confirmed that a spin off featuring Leto’s portrayal of The Joker is in the works. Leto is also set to help produce the film itself.

DC wants to expand its Suicide Squad universe, despite the first movie receiving poor and mixed reviews. The standalone Joker movie currently does not have a director or writer attached to the project.

What we do know, however, it is not the only Joker film being talked about. Director Todd Phillips was also in the talks to do a separate origin story film for the Joker with Joaquin Phoenix as the titular maniac villain of Gotham.

It looks like Batman might not be the only one fighting the Joker… It might be Joker vs. Joker if both movies come to fruition.
