Get Paid For Building A Rover
Every year, a small horde of robots descend upon the otherwise peaceful town of Worcester, Massachusetts. Their creators ranging from high school and college students to families and couples come for a chance to win $1.5 million at a NASA sponsored competition.
In June, about 20 teams tried to pass level one to win more than $5000 and more importantly, qualify for the round with the big prize. Bloomberg’s Jing Cao explains how a robot can win and it’s not as easy as it looks.
NASA is trying to create a new Mars Rover as soon as possible. Robot inventors are competing for the $1.5 million dollar prize and to be in the finals for whose idea is chosen. It can pay to be a robot nerd.
