It’s a day in history that Mariah Carey will never forget. On August 5th, 2015 the pop diva received the 2,556th star in a ceremony announced by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Carey is one of the most successful recording stars of all time.

She’s amassed eighteen number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, placing her only behing the Beatles for the record. And having sold more than 63 million albums, she is the third bestselling female artist in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Assn. of America.

On Monday she accepted her star along with the people who mean the most in her life and some of her biggest supporters her two children. Her fans also lined the streets to watch her accept her star and Cary couldn’t of been happier holding back tears. August 5th is officially announced to be Mariah Carey day and she is more excited than ever to have received her childhood dream!
