No. 1-ranked Novak Djokovic won a record seventh Australian Open on Sunday morning, defeating Rafael Nadal in straight sets.
The victory also marked Djokovic’s third straight Grand Slam title and 15th overall.
He played nearly error-free tennis in winning the match in a little over two hours.
On Saturday, Naomi Osaka won the women’s Australian Open title in three sets over Petra Kvitova.
College Basketball:
Purdue upended No. 5 Michigan State 73-63 on Sunday after leading by as many as 22 points in the second half. The top three teams in the Associated Press poll won their games on Saturday. No. 1 Tennessee topped West Virginia 83-66, No. 2 Duke defeated Georgia Tech 66-53 and No. 3 Virginia rolled over Notre Dame 82-55. The new AP poll drops on Monday.

Justin Rose, the world’s No. 1-ranked player, won the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, California, holding off Adam Scott’s late charge for a 3-shot victory. Rose shot a 3-under-69 in the final round. Scott finished the final round at 68 after making birdie on each of the last four holes.
The AFC defeated the NFC 26-7 in the NFL’s Pro Bowl in rainy Orlando, Florida.
City of Light won the $9 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational on a wet Saturday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
Duke quarterback Daniel Jones threw for a touchdown and ran for another as the North earned a 34-24 victory over the South on Saturday in the Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.
