And My Opinion on Why
There was a recent study in LinkedIn that found the top professions that millennials enjoy. Number five is retail and consumer products, which is understandable. Most millennials get a retail job to help pay for expenses or to gain working experience. If they enjoy it well enough, they might end up staying there.
Number four is architectural engineering. It pays well, and you if you don’t like sitting in an office all day then it’s a better experience. It’s not the typical 9 to 5 job that most people are getting.
Number three is healthcare and pharmaceutical. I personally know several people that I went to school with that are studying nursing or anything related to healthcare. It takes many years of schooling, and it also takes a lot of dedication and passion for going into the healthcare industry. Not to mention it pays very well.
Number two is professional services. This one honestly surprised me a bit. My guess is that it’s something that people are choosing to get these kinds of jobs because of income.
Media and entertainment was number one. Millennials are more likely to be more creative than the older generation. We learn technology quickly and are more likely to cite YouTube as our most significant source of inspiration. It makes sense why media and the entertainment industry seems like an appealing job choice for the younger generation.
