Ferguson is on Meghan’s side
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, feels for Meghan Markle and all the scrutiny she faces as a new member of the royal family. In fact, Ferguson says we should “celebrate” Meghan and her courage.
“It must be hard for Meghan, and I can relate to her. I believe she is modern and fabulous. She was famous before. She is great. Why can’t Meghan be great? Why can’t she be celebrated?” Ferguson said in an interview with Vogue Arabia. “I have been in Meghan’s shoes, and I still am. There’s always a twist of negativity and it just gets so sad and tiring; it’s hard and mean. I abhor bullying and I feel desperately sorry for the pain they must be going through because I’ve been through it.”
Although Duchess Meghan, an American-born actress who married Prince Harry in 2018, is beloved by many throughout the world, she’s also had her share of haters. Earlier this year, when she was pregnant with son Archie, Internet trolls circulated rumors that she was not really pregnant, and instead was faking the pregnancy for attention.
However, Meghan seems to rise above the criticism, focusing on her charity work both at home in the United Kingdom and abroad. Earlier this year, she took her son Archie to meet Desmond Tutu, a leader of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, and called him “an inspiration.”
