A mechanical arm created by a Dutch team of roboticists wins Amazon’s Picking Challenge award. The goal was to build a robot that could transfer 40 differently shaped types of items from a shelf to a box.
The machine uses both suction cup and gripper fingers. Sixteen teams competed in a contest in Germany with the goal of creating a new robot for Amazon’s warehouses.
