Chadwick Boseman passed away at 43
The world was in shock when prolific actor Chadwick Boseman died of complications from colon cancer that he kept secret from the public over 4 years. Boseman’s death was announced last Friday at the age of 43 and everyone close to him is mourning the loss of the great actor.
Boseman was known best for his Marvel franchise role as King T’Challa in the “Black Panther” hero film and making history as the first Black mainstream superhero. Boseman also made history playing historic roles as Thurgood Marshall in “Marshall,” James Brown in “Get on Up,” and Jackie Robinson in “42.”
A post on the official Twitter page for Chadwick Boseman confirmed Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled through four years that progressed to stage IV. The post also confirmed that Boseman was seeking treatment through chemotherapy and surgeries while filming in secret.

Boseman passed in the comfort of his home with his wife and family. The last post from Boseman’s official Twitter made history as the most-liked post of all time.
Boseman was engaged to singer Taylor Simone since October 2019 and privately got married a couple of months ago. His family is mourning the loss of Chadwick along with his celebrity friends in a Sunday night ABC special “Chadwick Boseman” A Tribute For A King.”
Phylicia Rashad revealed that she mentored Boseman while teaching at Howard University when he was a student and Boseman was accepted into the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer program but couldn’t go because he was unable to afford it. Rashad contacted her generous friend Denzel Washington that funded the trip and Boseman honored Washington is his acceptance speech for the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
The MTV VMAs dedicated the 2020 awards show to the memory of Chadwick Boseman according to host Keke Palmer. The VMAs also featured a video commemorating the late actor with previous MTV movie awards.
