All proceeds from “Hey Hey Rise Up” go to humanitarian relief.
Classic rock group Pink Floyd announced today that for the first time since 1994, they’re producing a brand new single titled “Hey Hey Rise Up.” They’re not just producing this song out of the blue, however; all proceeds made from the sale of this new single will be donated to huamnitarian aid causes working to aid the populace of Ukraine as they endure Russia’s ongoing invasion.

The new song features guitarist David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason, bass player Guy Pratt, and Nitin Sawhney on keyboard. Additionally, Andriy Khlyvnyuk, singer for Ukrainian band Boombox, is providing vocals via recordings captured from a performance in Kyiv. Khlyvnyuk left his band to join the Ukrainian army, and is currently in the hospital after being struck by shrapnel.
“We, like so many, have been feeling the fury and the frustration of this vile act of an independent, peaceful democratic country being invaded and having its people murdered by one of the world’s major powers,” Gilmour said in a statement.

“We want to express our support for Ukraine and in that way, show that most of the world thinks that it is totally wrong for a superpower to invade the independent democratic country that Ukraine has become.”
