NASA has built a six foot two inch “superhero robot” that it named Valkyrie.
Robots like this one may be the first to be sent to Mars before humans arrive on the Red Planet, says NASA’s Nicolaus Radford.
Valkyrie is NASA’s latest humanoid robot. It has detachable arms, sonar and mounted camera, making it well suited for work in disaster-stricken areas.
It will reportedly compete in DARPA’s Robotics Challenge this month.
