The Split That’s Shaking Country Music

They were country music’s power couple but reps have confirmed to the press that the two are calling it quits. In a statement the former couple said, “This is not the future we envisioned, and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately.”

TMZ reports that Shelton is the one who filed for divorce and the financial settlement was reportedly easily figured out due to prenuptial agreements. Lambert is an award winning country powerhouse and Shelton rose to fame juggling a music and television career on the television-hit show the Voice.

The two married in Texas in 2011 but ever since they tied the knot there have been rumors circulating about possible affairs from Shelton. However, the reasoning behind the split is still uncertain.
