Volcano Kilauea Shows No Mercy
As children, we used to jump from couch to couch, chair to chair, pretending the floor was lava as an afternoon game. This takes the game to a whole new level. Hawaii has been suffering massive destruction from the island’s volcano, Kilauea. Many have lost their homes, cars, and in some cases, hope to the lava. Unfortunately, geologists don’t see an end to the violence anytime soon. They believe the worst of the eruptions will come in the upcoming weeks.
The threats are not limited to the lava. The fumes coming from the lava create a “volcano fog” that is extremely toxic. It can travel miles, taking a toll on the lungs of the residents and inducing asthma attacks. The governor has advised everyone on the island to remain inside at all times. The only thing left to do is wait and hope the volcano has mercy on the island.
