Now that Lamar Odem completed a month-long stint in rehab, he hopes to get his ex–wife, Khloe Kardashian back. In a recently released promo for The Doctors, host Dr. Travis Stork, asked Odom what he looks forward to in the future. This was Odom’s first TV interview since his overdose in a Nevada brothel, which left him in a coma for several days. After a brief pause, Odom, 37 candidly reveals, “Umm honestly, I want my wife back.”

Odom’s divorce from Kardashian was finalized in December. The former LA Lakers basketball player spent time in a rehab after the near-fatal drug overdose. Odom had been spiraling out of control before the overdose and Kardashian had decided to file for divorce when she felt she had no other options. However, when Odom was hospitalized and recovering from the incident, Kardashian put everything else on hold, including withdrawing the initial divorce petition, to care for him while he recovered. Khloe had filed for divorce a second time in May 2016, ending their 7 year marriage, and has been dating Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson.

She even told the Late Late Show’s James Corden that she is in love with Thompson. After the interview was recorded, Odom checked himself into rehab again to prevent any temptations because of the 10th anniversary of his son’s death. His son Jayden died at 6 months old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Odom feared that temptation might get the better of him. Odom said, “I’ll say my prayers” when talking about hoping to get back with ex-wife Khloe.
