Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship on Sunday by two shots, giving him his second win in a major this season and third overall. So who’s the story? Tiger Woods.

Woods shot a 6-under 64 on Sunday to claim second place and electrify the galleries at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.

“First time Tiger’s been in contention and I’ve been in contention at the same time,” Koepka said, “so the fans definitely let you know what he was doing.”

Woods made birdies on six of his final 13 holes. With birdies on the 15th and 16th hole and pars to wrap it up a 66, Koepka collected the trophy. He’s only the fifth player to win the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open in the same season.
“Surreal,” Koepka said.

Baseball:
Chris Sale, fresh from the disabled list, struck out 12 in five innings as the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-1. … The Arizona Diamondbacks, unhappy with their play in the first two games of their series with the Cincinnati Reds, held a meeting on Saturday night and then won 9-2 on Sunday at Great American Ball Park to move back into first place in the National League West. Paul Goldschmidt homered twice. …

The Seattle Mariners beat the Houston Astros 4-3 in 10 innings to sweep a four-game series. Edwin Diaz earned his fourth save in four days and has 46 this season.

The Mariners have won six of their last eight and are one game behind the Oakland A’s in the chase for the American League’s second wild-card spot. They’re only four games behind the Astros in the AL West.

Chicago Cubs rookie David Bote hit a pinch-hit, walk-off grand slam to beat the Washington Nationals 4-3.

Elsewhere:
The Jacksonville Jaguars suspended cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive end Dante Fowler for one week for “violating team rules and conduct unbecoming of a Jaguars football player.” …

The New York Jets and Washington Redskins engaged in a huge brawl during a joint practice on Sunday. They play each other in a preseason game on Thursday night.

Kevin Harvick earned his seventh victory of the NASCAR season by handily winning the Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Brad Keselowski was second and Kyle Busch finished third for the second straight week.
