The Sound Of Music’s 50th Anniversary
Can you believe ‘the Sound of Music’ is celebrating 50 years!? Hard to believe it has been that long since audiences first watched Maria von Trapp come alive singing about the beautiful alps.
That movie has formed a special place in the hearts of people all over the world, but none as much as the star herself, the legend Julie Andrews. Andrews has been making a slew of appearances recently in the media talking about the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie including a special with Diane Sawyer, and now most recently a stop by Kelly and Michael to recall some fond memories from set.
In the clip above, Andrews talks about how difficult it was to shoot the opening shot of the movie – practically one of the most famous shots in all of cinema history- as well as how she got casted for the role in the first place (thanks Walt Disney!). Watch the interview and just try not to have the whole soundtrack stuck in your head all day long!
Do a deer a female deer – dang it, it’s already stuck in my head.
