Terror Jr Is The Pop Duo You Need To Be Following
Noted as one of the most anticipated and upcoming acts of 2018, Terror Jr was an experimental music group founded by Felix Snow, David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine and Lisa Vitale. Shrouded in mystery, the lead singer, who goes by Lisa Terror, kept herself in the dark as the trio released 3 separate LP’s in a trilogy known as “Bop City.” Each track had a psychedelic, simplistic, and mesmerizing beat accompanied with sunning high vocals and distorted lyrics.
Their claim to fame began when Kylie Jenner debuted their single “3 Strikes” in a lipgloss commercial/music video in 2016. From there, fans speculated that Jenner was the lead singer, since Lisa had not yet revealed her identity. Another hit song was released, “Come First,” which skyrocketed to the #10 spot on the Billboard/Spotify Velocity Chart. The group remained shrouded in darkness as more fans recognized their names. Soon, Felix Snow dropped the group in late 2017, transforming the trio into a duo. Their last installment in the trilogy, “Bop City: The Girl Who Cried Purple” was released on September 29, 2017. And from there, it was all silence…
Until now. Terror Jr’s (re) come-up has begun again with a wild new single, “Heaven Wasn’t Meant For Me,” with a powerful music video and subversive undertones to accommodate. These underdogs have proven they can compete with the big leagues, as the song appeared on iTunes “Hot Tracks” list, right below Ariana Grande’s latest single. The vibe goes from electro-pop to a remarkably catchy breakdown.
The latest, song, which you can watch and listen to here can only be described as, well, a bop, just like their previous singles. Lines like “If it’s something you gotta pay for, then heaven wasn’t made for me” delve deep into the capitalistic nature of our society. You can tell there’s a method to their madness, as Lisa spits the line “Feels like the world’s made of letters, so why do I feel so constrained by my words?” Terror Jr will make you contemplate your existence in the best way possible.
The music video for “Heaven Wasn’t Made For Me” ends with a unique twist, so make sure to watch until the end. And be on a look out for their first debut album, which could be dropped anytime soon at this point.
