A Sports Filled Weekend Ahead
If the rest of the NFL season lives up to the promise of the 42-27 upset of the New England Patriots by the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, we are in for some good times.
Your Weekend TV Six-Pack already has its eyes on Sunday Funday for football.
You can close out the extended viewing period on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. ET with our friends at NBC as the New York Giants, likely minus Odell Beckham Jr., play the Dallas Cowboys, with the suspended (but not for this game) Ezekiel Elliott.
The appetizer? The nasty rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field at 4:25 p.m.
Note that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Miami Dolphins game has been postponed until November due to Hurricane Irma. We extended our best wishes and highest hopes for all in the path of this terrifying storm.
If you need a break from football – and you’ve just had one that lasted seven months – check out the women’s and men’s finals of the U.S. Open tennis championships. The ladies play Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPN, the men on Sunday at 4 p.m., same network.
Now, back to football, college football. We’re going to recommend Auburn-Clemson on Saturday in an SEC battle at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Give it at least a half-hour, and if you don’t like it flip over to Georgia-Notre Dame on NBC at 7:30.
The bonus throw-in on the Six-Pack? Stanford at Southern Cal at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.
We know you’ve got a heiner. We know you’ve a recliner. Some assembly may be required, but you can put them together.
