FBI Investigates Epstein’s Private Island
Just days after his suicide in a New York jail cell, the FBI is raiding convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s compound on an island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Epstein, who was convicted of sex with underage girls in 2007 and facing new sex trafficking charges at the time of his death, had links to many high-profile men, including former President Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew.
The FBI is looking for clues as to who else was involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. Epstein’s alleged victims have already named Prince Andrew, former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, and high-profile attorney Alan Dershowitz as perpetrators. All the men deny the charges.
However, prosecutors are encouraging victims who have not come forward to speak out.
“To those brave young women who have already come forward and to the many others who have yet to do so, let me reiterate that we remain committed to standing for you, and our investigation of the conduct charged in the indictment — which included a conspiracy count — remains ongoing,” Geoffrey Berman, a U.S. prosecutor, said.
Although Epstein is dead, victims can still file civil lawsuits against his estate for damages. Epstein was worth hundreds of millions of dollars at the time of his death.
