Farms Of The Future
Are you ready to take a look into the future? Well, get ready because the Spanish company ‘Forward Thinking Architecture’ has designed a new global initiative, which are farms of the future that will float on the open sea.
The triple-decker ‘smart floating farms’ would adapt to each location’s specific food needs. Fish farms on the bottom level would cover every step of production, including packaging. The greenhouse level would feature hydroponic gardens that don’t require fertile land or natural rain.
Both levels would be powered almost entirely by a solar powered roof and the floating farms could potentially be run with sensors and no humans at all. The whole idea so far is that the farm will end up paying for itself within 10 years by producing 8.1 tons of fish per year.
