Evan Rachel Wood became a member of the Mother’s Club when she gave birth to a baby boy on Monday. Yes, the Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated actress is now a proud mom! Evan joins her British actor-husband Jamie Bell as proud parents. “Evan Rachel Wood and her husband Jamie Bell are parents to a beautiful boy”, a rep of Evan told E! News. And much to the relief of Wood’s countless fans and her celebrity friends in Hollywood, “Parents and baby are all doing well”.
“Beautiful Boy”
Wood, 25, wed Bell, 27, in October 2012, which means the new-born will be making life more meaningful for the duo from now on. The Mildred Pierce star took to Twitter to break the news and share her happiness with millions when she tweeted: “It’s a boy! Song of the day ‘beautiful boy’ #johnlennon”. Joining Wood to announce the arrival of their baby was Bell, who tweeted: “Wow! What a day. Evan you are my warrior! You never cease to amaze. Thank you for birthing our son so naturally and peacefully. You did it!”
Thanks to Twitter, Wood shared the happy news of her becoming pregnant months after their wedding in California. Since then, a pregnant Wood was sighted frequently in and around Los Angeles, with the cute actress never failing to update her prenatal status by posting information on Twitter every now and then. On July 12, an excited Wood tweeted: “When a pregnant woman says she just ‘rolled’ out of bed, she is being very serious”. Bell did not lag far behind in taking the help of the powerful social media tool making it clear that his actress wife would be requiring a reasonable break once their family gets the third member.
Wood hasn’t forgotten to express her thanks to all those who have been expressing support to her all the way. “Big thanks to anyone who understands and shows their support. Lots of love…” However, the smart actress also made use of the opportunity to give vent to her feeling by adding: “We know it wont eliminate the problem and it comes with the territory and all of that good stuff. But even a little goes a long way”. Wood also wrote: “I believe kids should be protected and not public domain. When my baby comes I would greatly appreciate no support of any pap photos”.
Congratulations Flood In
It seems an unending list of celebrities has come in full force to congratulate the Hollywood baby. Kick Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz was among the first of couple’s celeb mates to shower congratulatory messages. However, it appeared that Moretz did not want to take much of the joyful parents’ time, when the popular star just stopped by tweeting a simple “congratulations!!”
In sharp contrast, fellow new mum and Wood’s colleague in the film industry Busy Philips chose to tweet at length when she wrote: “Congratulations to @evanrachelwood on the birth of her baby boy! Congratulations sweet lady! Welcome to the Club!”, “Congratulations buddy” was how a delighted trainspotting author Irvine Welsh tweeted to Jamie, who stars in a film made from Welsh’s novel Filth, and slated to be released in October.
