Eminem is trending on Twitter for new music video
Eminem just dropped a new album, “Music To Be Murdered By,” and true to the rapper’s style, it pulls no punches. The first single from the album, “Darkness,” depicts Eminem as the Las Vegas shooter who killed 58 people at a music festival in 2017.
The video ends with news footage from other mass shootings, followed by text that reads, “When will this end? When enough people care? Register to vote at vote.gov. Make your voice heard and help change gun laws in America.”
Eminem also advocates for gun control on his personal Web site, Eminem.com. The site offers links to groups fighting gun violence, including Sandy Hook promise, Everytown for Gun Safety, and the Giffords Law Center.
“Please contact or visit the following organizations to find out how you can help or learn more about putting an end to senseless gun violence, or to help survivors and their families,” Eminem writes on his site.
Like his last album, 2018’s “Kamikaze,” Eminem dropped “Music To Be Murdered By” without advance warning. Instead, Eminem simply posted a link to the new album on Twitter just after midnight on Thursday. The album cover, inspired by Hollywood legend Alfred Hitchcock, shows Eminem holding a hatchet and a gun.
