Ellen DeGeneres’ Tribute to Inspirational CoverGirl Talia Castellano

The 13 year-old Youtube sensation Talia Castellano has lost her battle with cancer after fighting for over 6 years, almost half of her lifetime. The young makeup guru had been battling cancer since the age of 6 in 2007 where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 of neuroblastoma, a disease that is extremely rare to develop at a young age. She appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in September of last year and touched the hearts of many people, including Ellen. On the show, CoverGirl presented Talia with $20,000 along with makeup and a vanity so she could continue to make her videos.

DeGeneres posted on her Twitter “This year I met a very special girl, and today we lost her. Sending my heart to Talia’s family. I’m so sad.” She proceeded to post a picture of Talia on her Twitter account as well as on Instagram. The list of Hollywood’s A-List celebrities that are sending their well-wishes is growing and #RipTalia is one of Twitter’s most trending hashtags at the moment. The popular reality show celebrities and sisters to Kim Kardashian, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, also tweeted and said “just heard about Talia. RIP beautiful. my thoughts and prayers go out to her loved ones. stay strong, your little angel is watching over you”. More celebrities like singer Demi Lovato and Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara also tweeted about Talia’s death.

Talia’s official Facebook page, with nearly 500,000 followers, posted on their page yesterday following her death “‪#‎prayfortalia‬‬ It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven and please send your love and prayers to her family during this most difficult time.”. No news on the exact date of her funeral but the page does state that her “ physical body will be laid to rest during a small, private service this week for family and close friends only”.

Talia made videos about makeup tutorials, especially eye makeup, and also would vlog about her style and update her viewers on her health. She was one of Youtube’s most watched beauty gurus raking up 863,712 subscribers and a staggering 45,604,285 views on Youtube. CoverGirl made Talia their first “honorary CoverGirl” and was presented to her on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
