Two celebrity couples’ marriages have caught reporters’ attention this week – American actress Kate Bosworth tying the knot with director Michael Polish and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update anchor  Seth Meyers and his wedding to longtime lawyer girlfriend Alexi Ashe.

Marrying the Funny Man

Seth Meyers and his new wife had met at a mutual friend’s wedding a few years ago but why did he wait so long to marry human rights lawyer Alexi? Reportedly, Meyers had known Ashe was “The One” since he was smitten by her on their first meeting but his long wait was due to what he called “the perfect timing”.

And perfect the timing was!

After proposing to her via their dog (he admittedly got scared during the whole ordeal as he thought the dog was going to eat the ring), the two lovebirds, at last, were married in a quiet and private ceremony in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts last Sunday among the presence of those close to them – Seth had his SNL pals in attendance and of course, their families.

The bride wore a wedding dress with cap sleeves while Seth was said to wear a “dark-colored suit” – of what exact color no one could tell. “They are so in love and really excited for their big day. They [were] really excited to celebrate their big day with all their close friends and family,” one source revealed. It was in July when Seth had encountered a glitch with his wedding plans when he had to go to Comic Con for the promotion of his upcoming animated film The Awesomes. Luckily, that tiny flaw did nothing to thwart his wedding.

Kate Bosworth’s ‘I Do’

American actress Kate Bosworth, known for her role in 2006’s Superman Returns opposite Brandon Routh, also exchanged “I Do’s with boyfriend director Michael Polish last August 31 at a ranch in The Ranch at Rock Creek Philipsburg, Montana. The two said their promises to each other amidst guests composed of families and close friends numbering of just about 75 hinting that the wedding is indeed meant to be private and intimate. The two reportedly met in the set of Big Sur, a film where she was one of the casts and he was directing. They began dating in 2011 and Michael popped the question to her during their trip to South Korea August last year.

“I never even dated my husband-to-be. He said to me after just a few weeks, before we were even together, ‘I’m going to marry you.’ He just knew,” she candidly answered a question about her relationship with Michael thrown by a magazine reporter; they were just dating at that time. And in front of the altar they did end! A few days prior to the wedding, Kate had even tweeted a dreamy picture of her and stated that it reflected her state of mind. Martha Stewart, who helped Kate with her wedding preparations, had described the wedding as exactly “dreamy and exuding with love; set in a rustic background lent by the mountains surrounding the location”.

Well, congratulations are in order for these two couples!
