Technology And Kids Are The Future
If you’ve ever come in contact with a two-year-old, it probably didn’t take long for them to catch sight of your phone and struggle to forget it if you kept it from them. Children have a natural magnetism toward technology. We’ve all been astonished by their inherent understanding or practically immediate recognition of how it functions.
It makes sense because our world is ever-increasingly technological! That is obviously no longer a novel statement. The kids can help out with the self-check out at grocery stores, with online orders, and with self-service ticket purchasing at the movies, for example.
In schools, technology has also become absolutely essential. Kids are already so drawn to technology, and they can learn so many skills in every single subject with the myriad computer programs that already exist and are currently being created. The problem is, if they don’t have access to computers, laptops, tablets, or other pricey devices, they don’t have access to those interactive, analytical, exciting programs.
Google has produced a number of educational applications and provided schools with Google Chromebooks, a more cheaply-made, lightweight, foldable, touch-screen tablet. Google also offers schools the Teaching with Technology Trailblazers program which is a training program for teachers to earn a class set of Chromebooks upon completion. Kids love them all the same, although it’s possible that some devices will start acting wonky by March.
Apple is also jumping in on the demand for affordable technology in schools. They are producing a cheaper model iPad that schools and teachers can buy in bulk for their students.
