Conference On World Affairs Comes To Boulder
Two contenders for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination stopped in Colorado this week. Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is attending the Conference on World Affairs in Boulder, and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is visiting Aurora, Colorado.
Klobuchar and Warren are just two candidates in a huge primary field of Democrats hoping to win the nomination to run for President. Other contenders at the top of the polls include former Vice President Joe Biden—who hasn’t formally declared a run yet—Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, California Senator Kamala Harris, and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker. Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has surged in the polls this month, despite having a low profile and little name recognition when he entered the campaign.
Klobuchar will close the 2019 Conference on World Affairs at the University of Colorado at Boulder on Saturday, April 13th. The speech is titled “A Conversation with Amy Klobuchar.” Elizabeth Warren will visit the Aurora Stanley Marketplace on April 16th. Warren will address the topic of community organizing, and also plans to take questions from the audience in a townhall-style gathering.
As some top Democratic candidates visit Colorado, two of the state’s own politicians are weighing their own runs. Former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper recently threw his hat into the ring, and Colorado Senator Michael Bennett says he is also considering running for president.
