The Houston Astros trailed 4-0 in the first inning and tied it. Trailed 7-4 in the fifth and tied it. Trailed 8-7 in the seventh and took an 11-9 lead in a lightning span. The Astros scored four runs in the seventh off Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Brandon Morrow in the span of six pitches, but the Dodgers had some comeback in them as well.
They scored three times in the top of the ninth to tie Sunday night’s Game 5 at 12-12.
In the bottom of the 10th, Alex Bregman singled in the winning run for a 13-12 Astros victory. The Astros took a 3-2 lead in the series, which moves back to Los Angeles for Game 6 on Tuesday night.
“We were down 4-0 early and we said, ‘Our backs are against the wall. Why not play loose?’” Bregman told Fox Sports.
There were six home runs hit, four by the Astros, who are seeking their first World Series championship.

NFL: Quarterbacks Russell Wilson of Seattle and Deshaun Watson of Houston put on quite a show Sunday. Wilson threw for a career-high 452 yards and four touchdowns for the Seahawks (5-2), who won 41-38. The rookie Watson passed for 402 yards and four touchdowns for the Texans (3-4). … The Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) won their sixth straight 33-10 over the San Francisco 49ers (0-8). … The New Orleans Saints (5-2) made it five straight with a 20-12 decision over the Chicago Bears (3-5). … The New England Patriots (6-2) won their fourth straight, posting a 21-13 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers (3-5).
College football: The first College Football Playoff rankings come out on Tuesday night and they follow a weekend of upsets in the AP Top 25. Idle Alabama remained No. 1 and Georgia moved up to No. 2 after hammering Florida 42-7. Ohio State moved up three places to third after its 39-38 comeback win over former No. 2 Penn State. Wisconsin moved up a spot to fourth and Notre Dame jumped from ninth to fifth. … In the aftermath of Florida’s loss, the school moved to buy out coach Jim McElwain’s contract. Randy Shannon, once head coach at Miami, will be the interim coach.
AUTOS: Lewis Hamilton won his fourth career Formula One season championship on Sunday with a ninth-place finish at the Mexican Grand Prix in a race won by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. … Kyle Busch won at Martinsville as the round of eight began in NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup Series.
GOLF: Justin Rose profited from a record-tying collapse by Dustin Johnson and rallied from eight shots behind to win the HSBC Champions in Shanghai. Johnson, the world’s No. 1 player going for his third World Golf Championships title of the year, lost a six-shot lead. That matches the largest blown lead in the final round on the PGA Tour.
