2018 Oscars
Watch some of your favorite winners from Oscar Sunday say a little bit more than what you heard from them on stage.
One of the best “thank you camera” interviews comes from Gary Oldman, who took home his gold by winning Best Actor in the film Darkest Hour. The bewildered actor gives a shoutout to his two sisters who were watching at home, in a shocked and floored tone, as he fumbles to get his words out. Oldman is clearly still so shocked that he won, and it is the most relatable interview yet.
Guillermo del Toro gives his thank you in Spanish, with a smile on his face. Del Torro won an academy award for Best Director, which did not come as a surprise, as many anticipated his film The Shape Of Water would dominate the award show. The director also graced the stage a second time, winning Best Picture for the film as well.
