Netflix renews Bridgerton through season 6 and the drama, diversity, and love stories ahead are worth the wait.

Dearest gentle reader, the ton is abuzz with news that’s sure to set your fans fluttering—Netflix has officially renewed Bridgerton for seasons 5 and 6, and the drama, romance, and regency-era gossip are far from over.

While we’ll have to wait until 2026 for season 4 to arrive (yes, we’re counting down), the excitement doesn’t stop there. Season 4 will finally bring Benedict Bridgerton’s love story to life—an elegant twist on the Cinderella trope, featuring the captivating Sophie Beck (played by Yerin Ha). But if you think the story ends there, think again. The announcement of two more seasons has fans and book lovers alike speculating about what—or rather, who—comes next.

Who’s Likely to Take Center Stage in Season 5?

Let’s talk about Francesca Bridgerton. Season 3 hinted at something intriguing with her swift marriage to John Stirling and an unmistakable spark between her and his cousin Michaela. In a significant—and much-celebrated—deviation from Julia Quinn’s original novels, Michaela replaces the male character Michael from When He Was Wicked, setting the stage for the show’s first major queer love story. Showrunner Jess Brownell has confirmed that this change was intentional and deeply rooted in the desire to modernize the series while keeping the emotional depth intact.

Given how much groundwork has already been laid with Francesca and Michaela’s storyline, there’s a strong chance that season 5 will center on this evolving romance. And honestly? We are so here for it.

And What About Eloise?

Ah, Eloise Bridgerton—ever the rebel, ever the enigma. In the books, her love story unfolds in To Sir Phillip, With Love, where she falls for her pen pal Sir Phillip Crane. But on the show, Eloise has taken a much more independent (and complicated) path, and it’s unclear whether the series will follow Quinn’s version or chart an entirely new romantic journey for her.

Either way, fans are eager to see where Eloise’s future leads—and if we’ll get hints about it in season 4 or a full payoff in seasons 5 or 6.

Don’t Forget Hyacinth and Gregory

The Bridgerton bench runs deep, and that brings us to Hyacinth and Gregory, the youngest of the siblings. Their romances are chronicled in the seventh and eighth books, It’s In His Kiss and On the Way to the Wedding, respectively.

In the series, both actors—Florence Hunt and Will Tilston—are now 18, which puts them at just the right age to start exploring more mature storylines. So whether the series dedicates one full season to each or creatively combines their arcs into one, we’re ready for the next generation of Bridgerton drama.

Will Bridgerton Stick to One Romance Per Season?

With each season so far centering around one love story (with a few delicious side plots), there’s speculation that the format might evolve. Could we see multiple Bridgerton siblings finding love in the same season? Perhaps the final two seasons will deliver a double dose of romance—and if so, we won’t complain.

No matter how the story unfolds, one thing is clear: Bridgerton isn’t going anywhere, and the next few years promise to be filled with swoon-worthy romance, sparkling banter, scandalous secrets, and Lady Whistledown’s ever-watchful eye.
