The Heroic Age Of Antarctic Exploration

It all started with a team of adventurers, a passion, and a hundred years after Sir Ernest Shakleton’s Edurance Expedition, Patrick Bergel, the great grandson of Schakleton, along with Hyundai, take on Shackleton’s unfinished dream!

That’s right this past winter, the team became the first to cross the Antarctic in a passenger car…how cool is that! They literally drove their way right into the history books, they have a great story to tell because of it, and it has been made into a short film by Hyundai Motor!

Patrick Bergel says, “It’s the centenary of my great-grandfather’s final expedition, the Trans-Antarctic Crossing. I think the fact that we were the first to cross the Antarctic in a wheeled vehicle meant that it wasn’t easily achievable and the fact that we were the first definitely added something to the expedition and made it much more meaningful.”
