Stephen Colbert will succeed David Letterman as host of “The Late Show,” CBS made the announcement one week after Letterman told his audience that he would step down next year
CBS said Colbert had signed a five-year contract to helm the iconic late-night broadcast. Colbert, 49, has been the host of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” since 2005.

Colbert is sure to bring his outrageous humor to the “Late Show” set.
While some were really excited about the choice, others weren’t, and some even questioned if Colbert will be himself or the conservative character everyone knows from his hit show.
So now the big question is…who will replace Stephen Colbert over on Comedy Central?
