Fuel Your Bank Account Instead
Gas prices are at a three-year high and are predicted to rise even more. But don’t cue the sad music just yet. Thanks to these three apps, you can cut down on cost with fuel-friendly driving tips and monetary incentives.
1. First up is the Automatic app. This app provides tips that will help you conserve gas such as ensuring your tires are fully inflated and avoiding breaking too often. The app assesses your driving and at the end of each week, provides you with a drive score and trip timeline so you can track your progress and see where to improve. Automatic is free, but you’ll need an adapter that connects to your car.
2. Next on the list is GasBuddy. This app turns getting gas into a game. Every time you report a nearby gas price, you’ll earn 200 points. When you reach 1000 points, you can enter into a drawing to win a $100 gas gift card. Another benefit of this free app is that it alerts you when gas prices are on the rise, so you can fill up before it becomes too expensive.
3. The third and final app that will help you save money on gas is the Waze app. This app contains a navigational feature that Will locate nearby gas stations and sort them by prices. When traveling, Waze will find every potential route to help you avoid traffic jams. Like Automatic and GasBuddy, this app is free as well.
