Forecasters Predict Upcoming Hurricane Season

Hurricane season is among us and forecasters are predicting the upcoming hurricane season to be near or above-normal. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says there is a 35 percent chance that the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season will be above-normal and a 40 percent chance that it will be near-normal. Wilbur Ross, the Secretary of Commerce said, “With the advances made in hardware and computing over the course of last year, the ability of NOAA scientists to both predict the paths of the storms and warn Americans who may find themselves in harms way is unprecedented.” It is also predicted that there will be a 70 percent chance that there will be at least 10 to 16 named storms. So this year, get prepared early and be ready for any storm that is thrown your way.
