There are many problems in the world that we fail to change. We seem to worry about so many things that important and positive trends like education, child mortality, economics, and ocean life with a study backing it up saying that these species can go extinct within this century due to a combination of factors like pollution, climate change, and over exploitation.

There are a lot of people out there who do show concern and do care about these issues but the problem is that these people think on a very small scale. They often focus on local or partial solutions, however, we may be worse off by doing very little instead of doing nothing.

So why does it all matter and why do we even bother? Well, life is the greatest invention that this planet has ever seen. And the product of the disaster are the things people didn’t think about in the previous century and there is quit a lot at stake if we screw this all up. Technology is very powerful but if we don’t manage it well enough the technology will win.

And as a wise man named John F. Kennedy once said, “We are tied to the ocean, and when we go back to sea, whether it is to sail or to watch we are going back from whence we came.” With that being said, one of the greatest problems of this era lies within the ocean known as the great pacific water patch where plastic goes to stay and grow. Although there are many complications within cleaning up the mess one man envisions a solution that could help change and possibly solve our oceans troubles for good.
