Incredibles 2 Set To Break Records With 140 Million Dollar Domestic Opening

The last time we saw a sequel to an Animated Disney/Pixar classic, Finding Dory, it smashed the box office open, garnering $135 million dollars on its opening weekend. But apparently, that wasn’t enough for Disney.

With the resurgence of The Incredibles franchise, Incredibles 2 is on track to make over $140 million dollars domestically at the box office, trumping previous record holders for ALL animated film openings.

14 years ago, in 2004, the parent film was released to high praise, giving it a win in the Oscar category for Best Animated Feature Film. Then, Disney went dark with the franchise, and it seemed like the beloved cast of superheroes would never hit the silver screen again.

Fast forward to 2018 and its clear to see the hype is still there. Not only will a new generation of kids and teens be introduced to the beloved, or should I say Incredible, family of Bob, Helen, Violet, Dash, and JackJack Parr, but the sequel has rekindled the inner child in all of us grown-ups who are desperately looking to chase the nostalgia of our youth.

Incredibles 2 opens in theaters on June 15th in the US.
