Trump Is Confident He’ll Beat Biden
President Trump, at 72, is four years younger than Joe Biden, but still, Trump says he has a youthful advantage over the former Vice President.
““I just feel like a young man. I am a young, vibrant man. I look at Joe, I don’t know about him. I would never say anyone’s too old, but I know they’re all making me look very young, both in terms of age and I think in terms of energy,” Trump told reporters in Washington, DC.
Trump said he would “easily” defeat Biden if Biden ends up winning the Democratic nomination for President. Biden formally entered the race Thursday, announcing in a three-minute video he will be competing against more than 20 other candidates for the nomination.
Biden has run for President twice before, once in 1988 and again in 2008. In his announcement video, he criticized President Trump.
“The core values of this nation… our standing in the world… our very democracy…everything that has made America — America –is at stake. That’s why today I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States. #Joe2020,” Biden Tweeted on April 25th.
President Trump responded by re-tweeting GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who said Biden can’t challenge Trump on important issues like the economy.
“Joe Biden literally can’t hide from the economic successes of @realDonaldTrump’s administration,” McDaniel wrote. “Biden chose Pennsylvania to launch his campaign – a state where the unemployment rate just dropped to the lowest level *ever recorded.*”
