Virtual Reality
Virtual reality is everywhere these days, and now WordPress is joining in the VR obsession. With virtual reality becoming more accessible to everyday bloggers, WordPress posted a press release on Thursday that the web–hosting site will host 360° photos and videos on wordpress.com sites.

Readers will be able to view the content in their browsers, and they’ll also be able to click a “VR” button to view everything in its full, 3D-rendered glory using a compatible headset: WordPress points to Google Cardboard, Samsung Galaxy Gear, Google Daydream, Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive in its press release. The concept is not new to WordPress, considering self-hosting.org users could post virtual reality content by downloading a simple plug-in. However, for the word press – hosted.com users this news is pretty exciting.
Readers will be able to view the content in their browsers or click a button to view the content on a virtual reality viewing headset. It also demonstrates the future of how people will share and view their information online with each other. Most likely, it will cause an increase in demand for virtual reality headsets.
Additionally, news stories will be able to be shared with 360° views for people to better understand the message being conveyed. Telling stories will take on a whole new dimension!
