Get ready for an action-packed weekend of sport starting with the World Series
The Washington Nationals hold a 2-0 lead over the favored Houston Astros as the World Series resumes Friday night.
Game 3 will be the first World Series game in Washington, D.C. since 1933. That’s 86 years, if you’re keeping score at home. No Washington baseball team has won the World Series since 1924.
Friday night’s game can be seen at 8:07 p.m. ET on Fox. Saturday’s Game 4 has the same time and TV coordinates, as does an if-necessary Game 5 on Sunday.
College football presents several matchups of ranked teams – enough to keep your heiner in the recliner throughout Saturday. Isn’t that delightful?
Of note: No. 13 Wisconsin (6-1), coming off a loss to Illinois plays No. 3 Ohio State (7-0) in Columbus in a Big Ten clash. Noon, Fox. No. 2 LSU (7-0) hosts No. 9 Auburn (6-1) in an SEC fistfight at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. LSU has a bye after this game and then meets No. 1 Alabama. For your Saturday evening viewing pleasure, there’s No. 8 Notre Dame (6-1) at No. 19 Michigan (5-2) at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
The NFL is a bit short on notable matchups but does wrap up Sunday evening with a beaut: The Green Bay Packers (6-1) vs. the Kansas City Chiefs (5-2). NBC, 8:20 p.m. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, just a week after dislocating his kneecap, has been taking some practice reps. Will he play? Can he play? Should he play?
NASCAR’s playoffs roll along as the round of eight begins with the First Data 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. The race begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, with NBCSN televising.
Get comfortable. Settle in. It’s going to be a fun weekend with plenty to watch.
