What To Watch This Weekend
One thing your friendly neighborhood blog (FNB) lacks is the ability to see the future (and that’s only one of many things). So old FNB cannot tell you if Tiger Woods will make the cut at The Masters Tournament.
One prediction – Sergio Garcia won’t defend his title. Garcia, with a record-tying 13 on the 15th hole in Thursday’s first round at Augusta National, came in at 81, tying him for 85th with Matt Parziale, an amateur who is a professional firefighter. The second round is Friday, with ESPN televising at 3 p.m. ET.
The tournament shifts to CBS for the weekend, at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The NBA regular season is winding down and the Eastern Conference playoff field is set, but you could take a peek at the Cleveland Cavaliers-Philadelphia 76ers meeting Friday night on NBA. You’re tired of LeBron James? Even after that comeback win against the Washington Wizards? Then watch young Sixers star Ben Simmons try to lead his team to its 13th straight victory.
Saturday afternoon is a pleasant time for baseball, so check out the Baltimore Orioles at New York Yankees at 1 p.m. on MLB. The O’s have been slow out of the gate but this is a good old American League East rivalry and the Yankees are loaded with power.
The guys who go round and round are back after a weekend off. NASCAR’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 occupies Texas Motor Speedway and can be seen on Sunday on FS1 at 2 p.m.
We’re feeling generous, so we’ll throw in a bonus viewing opportunity that will certainly glue your heiner to the recliner. It’s … college football (sort of). Spring practices culminate with the spring game and Auburn’s is on SEC on Saturday at 4 p.m. The Tigers won the SEC West last year, finished 10-4 and were ranked 10th by the Associated Press.
Full buffet, many items to choose from. Help yourself.
