Looking Forward To Some Sports This Weekend?
The Chicago Cubs’ quest to repeat as World Series champions continues. Their 9-8 victory over the Washington Nationals in the wee hours of Friday morning sends them to their third straight National League Championship Series, this one against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It’s a rematch of last year’s series, won 4-2 by the Cubs.
That best-of-seven begins Saturday at 8 p.m. ET and will be shown by TBS, which also has Game 2 on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
The American League Championship Series will actually be the opening act in this Weekend TV Six-Pack. The New York Yankees meet the Houston Astros at 8 p.m. on Friday night on FS1, with Game 2 on Saturday at 4 p.m. on Fox.
So you’ve got plenty of baseball. But wait, there’s more. Plant your heiner in the recliner and don’t even think about moving.
College football has a weird weekend, with none of the AP Top 25 teams playing each other. We’ll give you two games that are on at the same time and you can figure it out for yourself. You’ve got No. 10 Auburn (5-1) at LSU (4-2) at 3:30 p.m. on CBS and Georgia Tech (3-1) at No. 11 Miami (4-0) on ABC.
Your NFL best bets: The Green Bay Packers (4-1), winners of their last three, take on the Minnesota Vikings (3-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday on Fox. At 4:25 p.m., the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) get after the Kansas Chiefs (5-0), who are the NFL’s only unbeaten team. That’s on CBS.
NASCAR’s round of 12 playoff continues on Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway. NBC has the Alabama 500 at 2 p.m.
Let the games begin.
