The iconic figure died Thursday of a recurrent lung infection at the age of 95 surrounded by family in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Reactions poured in from people all over the world paying tribute the former South African president, world leaders and dignitaries, including President Obama, have all taken to various media outlets to express their condolences and to remember Mandela’s legacy and life.
