‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’ Gets Creepy In A New Trailer

Remember Sabrina the Teenage Witch? Y’know, that old sitcom about the teenage witch trying to weather the complicated world of adolescence with the aid of nondescript magic powers? Netflix chose to make a completely different version of Sabrina from the one we had in our youth. It’s time for this witch to embrace her terrifying heritage, with all the Satanic horrors it brings.

On October 26th, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be premiering on Netflix. The series follows Sabrina who, having turned 16, is forced to undergo a dark baptism to become a full witch, renouncing her mortal side in the process. Sabrina, however, cannot go through with the ritual, and becomes targeted by dark forces who seek to do her all manner of unspeakable harm.

This series will be a notable departure from previous shows’ softer tones, featuring a greater emphasis on horror and violence (though, thankfully, with a pinch of dark humor). The series will be starring Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis as Sabrina’s aunts, and Ross Lynch as Sabrina’s boyfriend Harvey Kinkle.
