Joel S. Hirschhorn writes in his article “Technology Addiction” in the Electronic Age: Worldwide Progress or Servitude?” which was published on the Global Research website, about how people have become programmed and manipulated over the years to become addicted to technology.

He states that technology has become the opiate of the masses and is a threat to the concept of personal freedom.

According to the author, the majority of the world’s population is in some sort of technology servitude. The uncritical thinking and consumption of aggressively marketed devices is decreasing our ability to question if these devices are improving our quality of life or making life worse.
