Closing the Games

The Olympics concluded with the closing ceremony, marking the end of the XXII Olympic Winter Games. Despite stories of poor accommodations and ongoing security concerns, organizers call the Sochi Winter Olympics a success for both the IOC and Russia.

In addition to some fantastically nods to classic Russian cultural highlights like music and ballet, the Russia managed to show off a bit of their sense of humor when they mocked themselves and the little mishap that occurred with the rings during the opening ceremonies.

Flushed with pride after a spectacular showing at the costliest Olympics ever, Russia celebrated the Sochi Olympics on Sunday night with a farewell show that hands off the Winter Games to their next host, Pyeongchang in South Korea.
