Whenever a baby is born, it’s always a cause for celebration no matter what kind of family it’s born into. But when the baby is born to the royal family, it can be even more hopeful! As Kate was delivering the baby, crowds began to form outside the hospital, eager to learn the news that the new heir was here. And now, the whole world is celebrating William and Kate’s new arrival. Many in the media and Hollywood have extended their sincere best wishes and heartfelt congratulations to the Royal couple. On Tuesday, Prince William and Kate presented the new Royal to the public as they exited St Mary’s hospital.
There they were greeted by a large crowd of Brits who were eager to catch a glimpse of the new arrival and when the new royal family appeared, the crowd greeted them with cheers and applause as they shared the great news! Reporters were also there and hoped to get their first headlines and pictures of the royal arrival. One headline read, “His First Royal Wave”.
The US Reacts to the News
As the news spread to the other side of the pond, Americans were equally thrilled. When the news broke, many celebrities began posting congratulatory tweets in celebration of the blessed event. Ellen DeGeneres expressed congratulations to her very distant cousin, Kate. Kelly Ripa offered a few suggestions regarding what they may name the baby.
Actress Olivia Wilde suggested that the baby is the reincarnation of the recently deceased Dennis Farina. President Obama also expressed warm wishes by saying that he and First Lady Michelle congratulate them on this joyous occasion. Nancy Pelosi also sent best wishes to the new parents.
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said that a part of Sydney’s Zoo would be renamed after the new child. Rudd also said the Australian government will donate $93,000 in the Prince’s name to rescue a species of endangered animals. Fellow Brit Kelly Osbourne said, “God bless our future King” and added that she was very proud to be British right now.
A New Baby Excites a Nation
Indeed it is a great time to be British! The birth of a new child is always a hopeful time for any family. A new baby can allow us to look forward to the future and the possibilities that the future will bring. And the birth of a royal baby can be a symbol of hope and give many people a reason to look forward to the future with optimism and join together in unity over this special occasion.
With the birth of the new baby, there are now 4 generations of descendants to the throne now living. While the new baby, who has been named George Alexander Louis, helps us look forward to the future, he also is a reminder of the past due to his royal heritage. While giving birth truly is a miracle, coming from such a long line of royal blood is equally miraculous!
