New Playground for Downtown Elementary School
For any elementary school student, recess on the playground is probably their favorite time of the day. But what if they didn’t have a playground? A local surgeon, Dr. Steven Thomas, made a generous donation that allowed the school to build a playground for Howard E. Hollingsworth Elementary School. Their playground consisted of concrete and dirt. This was until the local surgeon, Dr. Steven Thomas, made a generous donation that allowed the school to build a playground for the kiddos. It is completed with a beautiful garden, a running track and even musical instruments. Their principal is over the moon excited for she believes that this playground is extremely important to the children’s development. The generosity shown by Dr. Steven Thomas has changed the school environment and has made it a better place to learn and grow!
