Bryce Harper Considering Yankees?
The Washington National’s right fielder Bryce Harper will be arguably the most sought after free agent. Harper has made it quite clear that he does not want to talk about the subject now, but that does not mean it won’t be the topic of conversation for baseball lovers nation-wide.
Many expect Harper to move on from the first and only MLB team he has ever played for, but leaving Washington is not not certain. Many are wondering if the big-shot will go to the New York Yankees. While chances may look slim, experts say not to rule him out quite yet. Harper is known to have an undoubtable love for former Yankee’s player Micky Mantle. So is becoming a free-agent the perfect excuse to follow the footsteps of THE Mantle? If so, maybe we will see Harper in pinstripes. Far from New York, there have been reports that Harper is heavily considering the Chicago Cubs.
Needless to say, the 25-year-old will come with a heavy price tag. Along with leading the National League in home runs and walks, his youth is advantageous. Harper’s worth could be anywhere from $350 to $500 million.
Can the Yankees sell themselves to the MVP, Mr. Harper himself? Or will Harper take different route and go join long-time friend Kris Bryant? Or maybe none of the above. Unfortunately, only time will tell.
