The latest news with the Jeffrey Epstein investigation
Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire financier who allegedly sex trafficked underage girls, had dirt on tech oligarchs in Silicon Valley, according to reports released after Epstein’s apparent suicide. Epstein was found dead in his jail cell on Saturday, after he was denied bail.
James Stewart, a columnist for the New York Times, said he met with Epstein in New York last year. Epstein told him that elite members of the tech industry participated in his illicit sex rings.
“He said people in Silicon Valley had a reputation for being geeky workaholics, but that was far from the truth: They were hedonistic and regular users of recreational drugs. He said he’d witnessed prominent tech figures taking drugs and arranging for sex,” Stewart said.
Stewart didn’t name any names, but hinted that Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and one of the richest men in the world, might be involved.
Epstein’s alleged victims have named high-profile men as people involved in Epstein’s trafficking ring, including Britain’s Prince Andrew and celebrity attorney Alan Dershowitz. The men have denied the allegations.
Epstein was supposed to be on suicide watch when he was found dead in his cell. Epstein’s victims have vowed to keep fighting for justice, and have said they will sue his estate for damages.
