Avril Lavigne To Go Back On Tour
Avril Lavigne bursts onto the music scene as a teen sensation in 2002, with hits like “Complicated” and “Sk8er Boi.” Despite her staying power, Lavigne hasn’t toured in five years, mainly due to health problems and turmoil in her personal life, including two divorces.
But that’s about to change–this week, Lavigne announced she’ll be playing fifteen shows across North America this fall, beginning September 15th in Seattle, Washington and ending October 11 in Philadelphia. The tour will feature songs from Lavigne’s new album, “Head Above Water,” which debuted in February. “Head Above Water” was Lavigne’s first album since 2013.
Lavigne has spent years battling Lyme Disease, and has become an outspoken advocate for others suffering from Lyme. But this year, she’s made a comeback to the music world. She performed a single from her new album, “I Fell In Love With the Devil,” on “The Late Show With James Corden” in April. She also released the single “Dumb Blonde,” a collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj.
Tickets for Avril’s tour go on sale to the general public this Friday via the singer’s Web site. One dollar from each purchase goes to support the Avril Lavigne Foundation, which helps people who suffer from Lyme Disease and other debilitating illnesses.
